Guitar Hero Metallica & Rock Band: The Beatles Reviews

Guitar Hero Metallica Review.

Available Consoles
  • Ps3
  • Xbox 360
  • Wii
  • PC
  • Ps2
  • Mac
Note From JJ3001: This game seems to have a wide range of platforms and after playing many previous guitar heroes, I definitely think this is a good purchase.

Ride the lighting through not just metallica songs but also 20 guest star songs, including Judas Priest, Queen and many many more. This time around Guitar Hero Metallica doesn't have the most songs in all the Guitar Heroes but has the hardest songs, including the exclusive expert+, expert+ is only for Guitar and Drums which will make is harder for the drummer because you will need to get a Bass Pedal which can be brought along with the pre-ordered version, but you cannot get it after. This game is going to be great.

Upsides:
- More Experience For GHTunes In PS3 and Xbox 360
- More Details For The Game In PS3 and Xbox 360
- A New Exclusive Expert+ For All Consoles.

Downsides:
- Not As Many Songs To Play With
- Wii Graphics Aren't At The Best Standard

Rating: 8.9

The Beatles Rock Band
Available Platforms
  • Wii
  • Ps2
  • Ps3
  • Xbox 360

Wow, this is a new experience for The Beatles. You can now hear all The Beatles' songs in the new Rock Band including the Vocalists for Backing Track as well. This game is just going to be like Rock Band 2 but even better, if you like The Beatles, you will love this game.

Upsides:
- New Graphics For The Game
- 2 Vocalists For Most Songs.

Downsides:
- No downloadable content will be available for this Rock Band.

Overall: 7.7

As with C&C it's business as usual, there's giant mechanic men and para-trooping bears! As well as new amphibious conflicts and even the ability to build water-based bases!

First impressions are good with a clear showing of the background story in which follows the general trend of people going back in time to bring themselves out as victors of WW2, and following the same trend this brings out unexpected, and un-preferable consequences! The soviets travel into the past to kill Einstein which goes a bit wrond and brings out the Japanese Empire of the Rising Sun, lead by George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek) as The Emperor. But without big nuclear bombs, the Soviets had to engage their enemies and plunged the world into WW3!

I must admit that there are some unusual things in the game like the use of a Japanese schoolgirl with psychic Powers but like always EA's experiance with RTSes have somehow managed to pull it together. This game explores warfare in much more detail than previous games, with its new amphibious assaults and new base-building options, with each faction have their own abilities and building style. And this game has units for the animal-lovers as well, with Dolphins with beams on their heads, armour plated bears which can paratroop down, as well as the normal attack dogs. The new naval comat is a welcome addition to the game, so if your enemy has loads of ground troops just pack up your Mobile Construction Unit and move out to sea! But like everything in C&C this has another twist, the MCU isn't fast enough to outrun any subs so it's hard to plan out perfectly.CommandCommandReally this time i think that EA have gone all out with a new marketing strategy, basically they've put in some of the best looking women they could find. The game even comes with a poster of all the "ladies". And when those girls are giving you the mission instructions its a lot more effective than some sweaty ol' general doing it!

The Campaign brings new ideas as well, with the choice of co-op play and the ability to talk with your friends online.
It's true that Red Alert has always been the most colourful of the C&C franchise, with time-travelling antics and messing up the space time continuum letting the creators make up silly story line where Japanese mechs turn into jets, and where the allies can have leggy commandos and James Bond. There's even a Helicopter that shrinks your units to an embarrassing size! And were only scraping the surface since there's over 70 units to choose from!
But amongst all the randomness and pretty visuals theres a brilliant game underneath, although you may not have as much choice in the name of factions as there were in Red Alert 2, theres definately much more choice in just about everything else.
8/10
